Sternum guard® is a single use, sterile surgical drape with modified cellulose designed specifically to reduce the risk of surgical site infection (SSI).
Sternum guard® can be used in any cardiothoracic surgery. It protects the sternal and surgical incision and reduces the risk of: SSI, mechanical damage, particulate release, wet surgical site and provides haemostatic action through a physical effect of compression and low acidity.
The device meets the requirements of EN 13745 standard HIGH PERFORMANCE pack in CRITICAL and LESS CRITICAL areas.
